This folder includes OSA Menu and a few script collections.
OSA Menu is a System Extension written by Leonard Rosenthol that provides a Script menu for all applications. Once installed, you will notice a script icon at the top right of the menu bar on your screen. Click on this icon to display any scripts available for the system and the frontmost application.
Run the OSA Menu installer in the Scripts/Script Menu folder on this CD ROM. Your computer will restart to activate the Script Menu. Once your computer has rebooted, read the Read Me files provided by OSA menu to get a better idea of how it functions.
Next, run the Script Collections Installer in the Scripts/Script Menu folder on this CD ROM. This will install a number of script sets you may find useful. It will install four sets:
1) A Universal Set of scripts available from within any application. These mostly concern common tasks like switching to the desktop, unmounting all disks, processing files and folders and going to a website.
2) A Finder Set of scripts available while in the Finder. These scripts provide automation for some desktop tasks such as file naming, file typing, and getting information about files.
3) A QuarkXPress Set of scripts available while in QuarkXPress. These are a variety of script tools for use with QuarkXPress. Like all the information and routines presented here, they are designed to work with QuarkXPress 3.32.
4) A Script Editor Set of scripts available while in the Apple Script Editor application. These scripts are a collection of routines and examples which, when selected, will be copied to the pasteboard for you to paste into scripts you are creating. We've covered a lot of the standard routines a scripter might use, plus added some QuarkXPress routines as well.
